A CHANGING STREETSCAPE PROJECTS NEARBY
RUE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE > A CHANGING STREETSCAPE

From the renovation of the façades to the smallest sculpture, the magnificent Haussmann-style architecture creates a perfect vista and takes centre stage in the street now that it has been totally renovated and redesigned.

The wider, paved, tree-lined pavements encourage pedestrians to take a gentle stroll.

Marseille’s new shopping street

All the essential shops, including many of today’s leading names, can now be found here, along with the services that are essential to everyday life.
The 60,000 m² of shops in the street will include existing or future neighbourhood stores and services and will attract new names providing household and personal goods, recreation amenities, cultural venues and restaurants.

The “Terrasses du Port” project, which is scheduled to begin in 2008, will further increase the attractiveness of the “Joliette” end of the street.

Thanks to the new car parks, the new more controlled traffic layout and the new tram line with its three new stops, everything has been designed to make traffic flow more easily and travel simpler, providing back-up for the underground and bus services.

Of course, a new design deserves new lighting. This will further enhance a street where life is good by day – and night.
